the cards of the minor arcana suit of PENTACLES

Ace of Pentacles - 64

The image on the left depicts a pantheon where the residents reside “happily ever after.” Everyone here feasts on love, harmony, abundance, and the good will of the Almighty! He sends them rain and a thunder from heaven – about once-a-month – to get their heads wet with the waters of the drinking of the Lord.  In this way, the mind of each resident precipitates the objects that one desires.

Change - 65

The image on the right depicts a man and a woman – both visiting the same doctor. She wants to be him – and he – he wants what she’s got! It is apparent that “change” is at hand, and the doctor can add these two lucky clients to his busy schedule.

Works - 66

The image on the left depicts the Queen showing off her little Prince to her subjects gathered down below. However, just some time ago, the Queen was having trouble conceiving an heir, and the King was getting very upset.

And so, the Queen sought out the services of a gypsy – who worked a magic spell with three golden coins, thus rendering the Queen pregnant overnight! The gypsy told the Queen that it was her husband who was having a problem, and that his karma did not allow for a proper heir to be born. After the Queen explained to the gypsy what she wanted her boy to look like, the gypsy readily summoned the “Superconscious” to manifest as the Queen’s son – rendering the Queen pregnant within a split second – just as unto the holiest of all women – to receive an heir directly from God’s hand.

Power - 67

The image on the right depicts an old miser obsessed with his gold coins. He has a tunnel from his bedroom to a secret chamber under his house where he keeps all of his gold. One day, an earthquake rocks the place, and his secret chamber collapses, leaving the miser trapped inside with his gold – he can never get out! His servants later find him under the house. Although it is too late for the miser, it is not too late for the gold – all of which his servants secretly share.

Worry - 68

The image on the left depicts a woman pushing her soup kitchen on wheels. She used to be an heiress to a considerable fortune, but she never felt worthy of it, and so she squandered the money until she went completely broke.  But now, she has a meaning in her life: she serves mankind with a few meals each day for the hungry – and she is going to be just fine! The Worry card portends that you are not living your true purpose, and that something needs to change. Soul growth comes in many different forms, and the worst thing that can happen to you is not growing poor, but for you to stop growing!

Success - 69

The image on the right depicts a full house at the Royal Opera. Everyone is gathered to see the debut of a world-renowned singer – including the Queen herself. The woman putting on this concert started as a child, working hard each day to be where she is now. She has several of her friends in supporting roles with less pay. However, the singer is here to ensure that her friends also get the opportunity and credit due to them by hiring them for her production, and so they all get to travel together and share in their mutual success.

Failure - 70

The image on the left depicts a young girl despondently looking at the fish that she has dropped out of her basket. Now that the fish are scattered on the ground, the child will have to pick up the malodourous, slippery fish, and place them back into her basket before proceeding with her delivery. Everything points to the fact that she is just not made for this job – it is simply “not her cup of tea.”

Prudence - 71

The image on the right depicts a hardworking young woman sitting in a church while examining her address book. She is intent on filling her calendar with all of the eligible bachelors from her church in order to open her matchmaking service. She has a lot of single girlfriends and a knack for telling which young man will marry next. The business is great, and all of her matches are “made in heaven.” If she maintains her vision, she will have her own matchmaking agency before the year is over.

Gain - 72

The image on the left depicts a fancy lady preparing for her date. She just met a man who promised that he was going to put the world at her feet. She has been going out with him for a while now, but suddenly, she realizes that he is “just not right” for her and that she simply cannot continue with this relationship. However, she has no job, and he provides for all of her needs and desires. Will she continue to sell herself for a few shiny coins, or will she reach for her peace of mind by earning her own keep?

Wealth - 73

The image on the right depicts a man and a woman getting ready to join their own Costume Ball. They live in a fancy mansion because they just won a giant jackpot while playing the lottery. Before the win, they worked like slaves in their “nine to five” jobs but, now, they live like a King and Queen.  They have enough money to last them several lifetimes and to provide for their children and grandchildren. They also care about their community, and they donate generously to help save lives and feed the poor.

Page of Pentacles - 74

The image on the left depicts a young boy with a crown in his hands. His father, the King, went to bed, and so he snuck inside the royal fitting room and got ahold of his father’s crown. He is going to take the crown to his room to try it on and then put it back – as he does every night.  It is a feeling that he gets when the crown is on his head – he feels wealthy and powerful and invincible – just like his father! When he grows up, he too will have his own palace, and acquire as many crowns as he wishes.

Knight of Pentacles - 75

The image on the right depicts a dapper gentleman ready to host his own party.   A few years back, he was living with Grandma and working as a teller at a bank, but then he happened to meet an older gal – a local Countess and an heiress to a large fortune. They got married, but the in-laws never accepted him as one of their own. However, he expected nothing from the Countess and went to work to build his own empire. With his wits and charm, he managed to triple their fortune, and so, the in-laws are now seeking his financial advice, and he is always welcomed to their social gatherings.

Queen of Pentacles - 76

The image on the left depicts a Queen on her throne ready to take an inventory of her royal assets. She needs to know how much is in the royal treasury to the penny, and what kind of measures she can take to fill up her coffers with more cash. To do so, she counts what her subjects eat, wear, and spend – so she knows how to “balance her books.” Somebody’s got to do it – and her majesty always knows best!

King of Pentacles - 77

The image on the right depicts an older fellow reading his favorite novel before he cracks his egg to enjoy with some bread and butter. He is as wealthy as can be, and people knock on his door all day long to borrow money. He owns several banks around town, but he still makes personal loans to a few friends here and there – just for fun! One can never have too much money, and everyone worships him like a “Don.” He is fair with his servants, and his maids get Tiffany handkerchiefs for Christmas and turkeys on Thanksgiving – and so everybody feels just as blessed!
